U9/U10U, U11/U17 REC program at Westbank Park is Co-ed.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Shaw High School will not be available for recreational soccer on the West-Bank for the spring 2021 session. Those wishing to participate in the spring session will need to register at our City Park or Lions Park (Kenner) locations for practices and games.

Archbishop Shaw is not allowing outside activities to take place on campus with the current situation with Covid19. We are hopeful as the situation continues to improve in the coming months that we will be allowed to resume soccer activities in the future.

Teams  (The program is co-ed).

• U9/U10 Girls and Boys play on the same teams (players born in 2012 & 2011)
• U11/U13 Girls and Boys play on the same teams (players born in 2010, 2009 & 2008)
• U14/U17 Girls and Boys play on the same teams (players born in 2007, 2006, 2005,& 2004)

Practice 

• Each team usually holds 2 one-hour practice session every week
• Practice at Westbank Park 
• Practice days= Monday/ Wednesday OR Tuesday/ Thursday 
• Practice times= 5PM-6PM OR 6PM-7PM
• Players must wear shin guards; soccer cleats, water/ Gatorade, and should also bring a size 4 soccer ball to practice and games.
• Games
• The team play what is called "Small-sided games", which consist of either 7v7/8v8 with goalkeepers 
• Games consist of two 25 minutes halves
• Substitutions can happen during any stoppage of play
• All participants should get 50% of the time on the field during games
• Games are played on a Saturday at Lions Park 

Cost

U9/ U17  Players -  $95 

• Field space to train and play games on
• Insurance (every player will be registered with the Louisiana Soccer Association)
• Developmental training sessions run by volunteer coach throughout the season
• Referees paid for by club (one game a weekend), and a ten-week game schedule
